Home Services Destinations ContactHire a tempo traveller in Mumbai with a driver, from 14 to 26 seats, in AC and non-AC. Once you are travelling with seven or more adults, this is the vehicle we recommend more than any other. It carries the group and the luggage in one go, and the cost per person drops sharply the moment you stop booking cars.
Ours are not standard vehicles. Every one has been fully modified, with luxury seats and a sofa-cum-bed row at the back so somebody can actually lie down on a long drive. We own them and run them from Kandivali.

Every one of ours is modified rather than standard. The sofa-cum-bed row at the back is the part people remember.
The smallest we run, with 9 luxury seats and a 4 seater sofa-cum-bed. Good for a family or a small office team on a long drive, because somebody can stretch out at the back rather than sitting upright for six hours.
Thirteen luxury seats and a 4 seater sofa-cum-bed. This is the size we book out most in Mumbai. Most Shirdi and Nashik trips go out in one of these.
Sixteen premium seats and a 4 seater sofa-cum-bed. One of the most distinctive vehicles we run, and the one to ask about if the group is large but the drive is long.
Twenty one luxury seats and a 5 seater sofa-cum-bed, available in both AC and non-AC. Schools, societies and mandals book this most. Long body, so tell us the pickup address and we will confirm it can turn.

The rule we work to is simple. Medium sized bags come to roughly the same number as the seats. Large bags come to about 60 to 65 per cent of the seat count. A tempo traveller holds more inside than an Urbania, which is one of the reasons groups with real luggage end up in one.
If the group is smaller than the vehicle, spare seats can hold extra luggage, as long as nothing damages them. Tell us what is coming and we will plan the loading.

Google Maps times assume a car on an empty road. A full vehicle with a speed limiter, a halt and Mumbai traffic on the way out takes longer, and the distance runs higher than the straight line too. Here is what to actually plan for.

Some venues and rural roads on these routes cannot take a large vehicle. Tell us the exact pickup and drop address, including any unpaved or monsoon affected stretches, and we will confirm access before you book rather than on the day.
Every tempo traveller listed below is ours. They are fully modified rather than standard, with luxury seating and a sofa-cum-bed row, and we service them at our own garage.

When we bring in a vehicle from our vetted partner network, it is no more than three years old and in the same category you booked or higher. Occasionally we upgrade a client at the same price, and we do not charge extra when that happens.
You are welcome to come and inspect the actual vehicle before you book. Call ahead so we can make sure it is not out on a job.

On most nearby states we pass on a discount of up to 50 per cent on the normal state tax, all year round, not as a seasonal offer. If you would rather have one all inclusive figure with nothing charged afterwards, ask and we will quote it that way.
Our buses and tempo travellers run from Kandivali. Our cars run from Andheri. We do not want to bill you for the drive to your door, so for most pickups across Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai we calculate distance from a point closer to your boarding location once you tell us where that is. Both kilometres and hours are counted the same way.
A note on waiting. No vehicle stays running in standby for more than ten minutes in one spot. If you need the engine and air conditioning kept on while the vehicle waits, tell us and we will quote it, because it burns fuel.

Before you book
Every answer starts with the answer. If yours is not here, it is usually about a specific route or date, and both are quicker on a call.
Ask about your trip →Once you have seven or more adults, a tempo traveller is usually the right answer. Below that a car works. Above it, one tempo traveller beats two cars on cost, and everybody travels together.
Roughly as many medium bags as there are seats, and about 60 to 65 per cent of that number in large bags. If the group is smaller than the vehicle, spare seats can take extra bags as long as nothing damages them.
Every tempo traveller we own has a sofa row at the back that converts to a bed. On a 20 seater that means 16 premium seats and a 4 seater sofa-cum-bed. Somebody can lie down properly on a long drive, which is not something you get in a standard vehicle.
Yes. Apart from cars and the 13 seater AC, we have non-AC options across all the higher categories. Non-AC is cheaper and fine in the cooler months.
Same engine. The tempo traveller runs on leaf springs and has a lower roof, and it holds more luggage inside. The Urbania has independent front suspension, a softer ride and a roof you can stand under, but limited interior luggage space.
All our vehicles are speed limited to 80 km per hour, which RTO rules require. It is set in the vehicle and we cannot raise it. Factor that into your timings, and see the route table above for realistic drive times.
From a point close to your boarding location wherever we can, not strictly from our garage. Our buses and tempo travellers sit in Kandivali and our cars in Andheri, and we would rather not bill you for the drive to your door. Tell us your pickup point and we will confirm how it is being counted.
The bigger the vehicle, the lower the cost per head. A 13 seater on a Lonavala day trip runs about ₹8,000, which is roughly ₹615 each. A 49 seater coach on the same trip runs about ₹18,000, which is roughly ₹367 each. If you are close to the next size up, it is usually worth going up.
Book one size bigger than your headcount. It leaves a spare row, so someone can put their feet up and lie down on a long stretch, or the children have somewhere to play. It is the single best piece of advice we give and it costs very little.
To secure your preferred vehicle, book as early as you can. We also take last minute bookings up to an hour before pickup, depending on what is free and where it is.
Tell us the pickup address when you ask for a quote and we will give you a straight answer. Long body tempo travellers need turning room, and it is better to know before travel day than on it.
